Useful Tips
- Book Accommodation Early
- June is no longer a secret. While it’s quieter than July and August, many of the best boutique hotels, apartments, and seaside guesthouses can fill up weeks or even months in advance. If you’re planning to visit in June, don’t leave accommodation until the last minute.
- Reserve Ferries Ahead of Time
- Catamarans from Split and Dubrovnik become increasingly popular as summer approaches. Booking ferry tickets in advance gives you more flexibility and helps avoid disappointment on busy weekends.
- Don’t Skip the Beaches
- The sea is generally warm enough for swimming by June, but without the crowds that arrive later in the summer.
- Make Restaurant Reservations for Popular Spots
- Although June is considered shoulder season, waterfront restaurants and well-known konobas can still be busy, especially during weekends. A quick reservation can save you from waiting during peak dinner hours.
- Wear Comfortable Shoes and Pack Sun Protection
- Korčula’s Old Town is beautiful, but its polished stone streets and stairways can be slippery. Comfortable walking shoes will make exploring much more enjoyable than sandals with little grip.
- June sunshine in Dalmatia is stronger than many visitors expect. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, especially if you plan to spend time on boats, beaches, or vineyard terraces.
