Korčula Go

There are many ways to discover Korčula, but few are as enjoyable as exploring its vineyards at a leisurely pace in an electric shuttle. What began as a wine tour quickly became one of our favourite family experiences on the island—a perfect blend of beautiful scenery, local flavours, and the simple joy of spending time together.

Setting off from our accommodation in Korčula, we left the main roads behind and followed quiet country lanes lined with vineyards and olive groves. Travelling in an electric shuttle made the journey feel even more special. The ride was smooth and peaceful, allowing us to fully appreciate the sounds of nature, breathe in the fresh Mediterranean air, and take in the stunning views across Korčula’s rolling landscape.

One of the highlights was driving through the vineyards of Lumbarda, where rows of vines stretch across sandy fields towards the sea. It’s here that the island’s famous Grk grape has been cultivated for generations, creating a landscape that is as fascinating as it is beautiful.

Our first stop was at Lovrić Winery, where we were welcomed with genuine Dalmatian hospitality. As we sampled three of their wines, each paired with locally produced delicacies, we learned more about the family’s winemaking traditions and what makes Korčula’s wines so distinctive.

Next, we visited Vitis Winery, surrounded by vineyards that have been carefully tended for generations. Tasting another selection of wines while enjoying local cheeses, cured meats, and other island specialities gave us a deeper appreciation for the connection between Korčula’s food and wine culture.

Our final stop brought us to Sabulum Winery, a fitting end to the tour. Here, we enjoyed another guided tasting of three wines, each reflecting the unique character of the island’s terroir. Sitting among the vineyards with a glass of wine in hand, overlooking the surrounding countryside, it was easy to understand why Korčula has become one of Croatia’s most respected wine regions.

What made this experience truly memorable wasn’t just the excellent wines—although they were certainly a highlight. It was the journey itself. Cruising quietly through the vineyards, stopping to admire the scenery, and sharing the experience as a family made the day feel relaxed, authentic, and wonderfully unhurried.

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or simply looking for a unique way to explore Korčula, an electric shuttle wine tour offers a different perspective on the island. It combines breathtaking landscapes, welcoming local winemakers, delicious regional food, and exceptional wines into an experience that lingers long after the last glass has been enjoyed.
