Alternatively, you can opt for a private door-to-door transfer from the airport to Korčula using one of the local taxi services or rent a car.

There are also bus lines from both Dubrovnik and Split to get you to Korčula in just a few hours. 

From Dubrovnik

Vela Luka (on Korčula Island): Direct ferries operate from Split to Vela Luka, a town on the western side of Korčula Island. The ferry journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, allowing you to relax and enjoy the Adriatic views. From there you can hire a taxi or take the bus to Korčula Town.

Option 2: Split to Orebić and Ferry to Korčula Town

Car to Orebić (on the Pelješac Peninsula): Drive from Split to Orebić, a charming town located on the Pelješac Peninsula. The journey takes around 3 to 4 hours, offering scenic views along the way. From there, hop on a ferry to Korčula Town. The ferry ride is a short and scenic journey, providing stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and nearby islands.

If you are coming to Korčula with a car, you will need to use one of the two available ferry options: the Orebić to Dominče route or the Split to Vela Luka route. Both of the ferry options are run by the Jadrolinija ferry company. It’s worth noting that Jadrolinija has an app through which you can buy your tickets on the go to avoid long lines during high season and check the ferry schedule. Orebić to Dominče Ferry

Perhaps the most popular option for travellers coming to Korčula with a car, is the ferry route from Orebić to Dominče. Orebić is located on the Pelješac Peninsula. Here’s how to make the most of this route:

Keep in mind that even though the time of ferry departure can be chosen when buying the ticket online this ferry operates on the first come, first served principle. 

  • Arrival at Dominče: Upon arrival, you’ll find yourself on the doorstep of Korčula Town. The short distance between Dominče and the town center allows for a smooth transition to the heart of the island.

Split to Vela Luka Ferry

For those starting their journey from the vibrant city of Split, the car ferry to Vela Luka on the western side of Korčula offers an alternative route with its own unique charm:

  • Departure from Split: Head to the bustling port of Split, a hub of maritime activity and a gateway to the Dalmatian islands. The ferry will take you across the Adriatic to Vela Luka, a charming town on the western tip of Korčula. The ferry ride takes about 3h.
