DESCRIPTION:Slovenian artist Igor Štromajer presents “.else.if”\, an interactive digital exhibition premiering ten collaborative poems created by both human and machine. This innovative interface is designed for mobile devices and accessible exclusively via Wi-Fi on St. Mark’s Square in Korčula. \nThe project emerges from Štromajer’s 2011 ritualistic act of deleting 37 of his early net art works (1996–2007) in the piece Expunction – Deleting intima.org Net Art Works. While these works were erased from his own server\, several were preserved in prestigious collections such as Centre Pompidou (Paris)\, Ars Electronica Lab (Linz)\, Computer Fine Arts Gallery (New York)\, and Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid). \nThe poems in .else.if (created between 2013 and 2018) were generated through semi-automatic conversion of image files (.jpg\, .gif) from his deleted artworks into Unicode-based text—a poetic resurrection of lost digital art through code and verse. \n🖱 Access the exhibition at any time using your mobile device by connecting to the Wi-Fi network ‘siva) (zona’ on-site. \nOrganized by siva) (zona – space for contemporary and media art (Korčula) in collaboration with Format C (Zagreb) and the Korčula City Museum. \n🔗 More info: sivazona.hr/events/igor-stromajer

SUMMARY:Photography Exhibiton - "From Marco to Polo - On the Silk Road"
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on the book “The Travels of Marco Polo\,” by the greatest adventurer of his time\, the man who connected East and West more than 700 years ago\, the author guides us through exotic\, at times surreal\, regions and cultures in search of evidence of Marco Polo’s travels. On the Silk Road\, we will encounter territories and discover numerous cultural-historical curiosities and cultural differences. We will be introduced to Islamic\, Hindu\, and Buddhist religious and civilizational spheres. The warmest deserts of Iran\, Turkmenistan\, Mongolia\, and China are depicted. The author of the exhibition and his team climbed over 5\,000 meters in Tajikistan and Tibet and traversed 18 countries. In Marco Polo’s time\, the network of trade routes was full of abundance\, but also dangers and wars. Much like today. \nIn conversations with ordinary people\, stories were heard about customs\, beliefs\, crafts\, and behaviors unknown to us\, as well as the values of life that have developed or are developing.
